You do not need a finished specification. ShadeFX confirms size, mounting, clearances and power before preparing your project scope.
Available configurations reach up to 40' wide × 12' projection. Exact sizing depends on style and project conditions.

- Size & projection
- We plan width and outward projection around the area you want to shade and when you use it. Photos or plans are enough to start.
- Mounting & structure
- We review the proposed attachment location, supporting structure, mounting height and nearby doors or obstructions before recommending the mounting approach.
- Power & installation
- We review power access and any optional wind sensor, then confirm installation arrangements, site preparation and who is responsible for each part of the work.

Product questions
Retractable Awnings questions.
What should I do with a retractable awning in windy conditions?
Retract your awning before strong winds or severe weather. An optional wind sensor provides an additional safeguard, but does not replace appropriate operation or make the awning suitable for use in severe weather.
Can a retractable awning be used in the rain?
A retractable awning should not be treated as a permanent waterproof roof. Light rain may be manageable depending on the awning, pitch and conditions, but the system should be retracted before heavy or sustained rain, strong wind or severe weather.
What comes standard with a ShadeFX retractable awning?
Remote control and a manual override crank handle are included with every configuration. Integrated dimmable LED lighting in the arms is standard with semi-cassette and full-cassette systems. A wind sensor is optional. Your quote confirms the selected system and installation scope.
How do I choose the fabric and frame colour?
Start with the look you want: understated, textured or striped. ShadeFX helps coordinate fabric and frame colour with your architecture and furnishings, then confirms the available choices for your configuration.
What maintenance and cleaning does a retractable awning require?
Routine care is relatively straightforward. Keep the fabric and moving components clear of dirt and debris, address stains as they occur and avoid storing the awning wet for extended periods.
What is the lead time for a Retractable Awning?
Lead times vary depending on the awning configuration, fabric selection and project requirements. Some awnings can be manufactured in as little as two weeks. ShadeFX will confirm the anticipated manufacturing, delivery and installation schedule as part of your project proposal.
