Located in the heart of Jackson Hole, the Jackson Hole History Museum is a cultural destination dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of the valley. The newly developed museum campus blends contemporary architecture with historic Western structures, creating a dynamic environment for exhibitions, education, and community programming. Designed by HGA and constructed by ACM Wyoming Construction Management, the project carefully integrates modern museum facilities with the historic character of the surrounding Van Vleck Block.
Perched above downtown on the museum’s rooftop deck, ShadeFX installed two custom 20′ × 18′ retractable roof systems to provide flexible shade for events and gatherings. The venue accommodates up to 128 people for standing or lecture-style functions and up to 80 guests for seated dining, supported by built-in speakers, catering prep space, Wi-Fi, bathroom access, and presentation equipment. Finished in RAL 1035 Perle Beige and paired with Ferrari Hemp fabric, the retractable systems complement the museum’s natural material palette while allowing the roof to open or close as needed, preserving open-air views while providing comfortable shade during events.
Delivered in collaboration with HGA and ACM Wyoming Construction Management, the installation highlights ShadeFX’s growing presence in Jackson Hole. The museum project is one of three ShadeFX installations located within a one-mile radius, alongside projects at The Cloudveil and Snow King Mountain. Together, these projects demonstrate the region’s demand for flexible outdoor environments that enhance hospitality, cultural, and recreational spaces.
